I grew up in the wide expanses of Texas where the only thing stronger than the accents was the state pride. An over-active imagination, tale-telling father, and encouraging librarian mother lead to my love of all things creative.
By fifth grade I was pushing my fully-illustrated "choose your own adventure" stories on my classmates. And as the editor of my high school paper, I would bang out catchy headlines, while simultaneously aligning type. The only solution? Study graphic design and creative writing, of course.
After more than ten years working professionally as a designer and illustrator,
I am now happy to be adding my love of writing back into the mix. My debut young adult novel, Fire of the Sea, was released in 2014. For more information, view my MEDIA KIT.
When I am not pursuing the creative, you can find me spending time with my filmmaker husband and three young children, in the Rocky Mountains of Utah. I enjoy sitting in dark theaters, trying new gluten-free recipes, watching the snow fall on the peaks out my window, British accents, and secret naps.
