I am so excited to feature an author friend of mine on the blog today, Christine Haggerty! I have had the pleasure of designing the covers for Christine's new series, The Grimm Chronicles. And her first novella in the series , Pretty Things, A Robber Bridegroom Tale, is out right now! You can purchase it on Amazon for only $.99 HERE.
When Maddie's father catches her with a boy, he hauls her into town
in a pig wagon and finds her a husband. But Peter's cabin in the woods
promises something very different than Maddie's happily ever after.

I LOVED this story. I am a fan of all things fairy tale, especially when they are new takes on the classics. Here is my official review:
Christine Haggerty has expertly crafted a wonderful retelling of a time-honored cautionary tale. I read this in one sitting, in the darkness of a midnight bedroom, and just about leapt out of my skin. Haggerty's sense of timing and bone-chilling suspense are packaged perfectly in a well-paced and satisfying version of the classic Robber Bridegroom tale. Pretty Things has shades of Where are you going, where have you been by Joyce Carol Oates, interlaced with all of the raw and original horror of a true Grimm "fairy tale." I can't wait for the upcoming installments in The Grimm Chronicles!
Christine Nielson Haggerty grew up in
rural Utah with three brothers, a sister, several chickens, a goat, and an
outhouse. She always loved the escape of fantasy and the art of writing, and
her passion for life is to craft stories of strength and survival.
As a former
high school language arts teacher and a black belt in karate, Christine has
found a niche in combining those skills to help authors write effective fight
scenes.
An
award-winning young adult author, she is now launching her dark fantasy
fairytale novella series The Grimm
Chronicles.
