Losing my techie mind
I have been stuck in technology hell lately. And it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have a job as a, oh, say, blog designer. Our new internet service is so S-L-O-W (but only on my computer), that it's been making me say strings of bad words in my head while I get an infuriating tingle running through my body. Then I have my ailing computer that's taken quite a beating over the years, with painfully outdated software. And I now have a load of RAW photo files I can't open due to the previous sentence (I was shooting in RAW + JPEG, and am really angry for making the switch to just RAW this weekend). So please stand by until I can convert all of my Easter photos (and so many other amazing moments we managed to catch of the kids) to a format I can work with on my Apple IIe. Just kidding. It feels like it lately, though.
Dear Apple,Please send me a new MacBookPro, and I will review it with gusto! We can even hold a giveaway...Sincerely yours,Lyndsay the crazed designer
(During this whole post I've ben trying to load Google in another browser window, and it's still not loaded. Good thing my hair's not long enough to rip out. And this is even after I switched to Google Chrome, the fastest around! Deep breaths...)

I kept getting slow connections or they would drop off completely all the time. (Even though it used to work great!) After assuming it was the cable/internet company issues for so long, I tried taking it to the mac store (I have an older macbook pro from 2005/06) and after a test that day it turns out that I needed a new internal modem wireless internet thingie. They replaced it by the next day and the internet stays connected now and runs fast. I wanted to send this thought along in case it helps. I think it cost around 100 bucks or so. Good luck!!!
You should play some "Number Munchers" with your IIe. I had an epiphany a few years ago that the game was really an elementary school teacher's trick to make me do math. Oh well...I still like it (and math).
The odd thing is it ran just fine when we had Charter. But AT&T killed it. Wes is so sick of hearing me complain, he just sent me a text saying we are switching back to Charter. HA!!
LOL. Mine was perfect until Comcast installed a new router and wireless modem thingie when we got high-def! Then, it didn't work anymore (well, it worked, but HORRIBLY) which is why we thought it was on their end. I don't get why it would ruin the internal working in the computer...perhaps a coincidence? But after a year of struggling on and off and then it barely working at all I brought the computer for the testing and they found the internal card had gone caput. Once replaced I haven't had a problem and has worked great. May be worth checking out if your probs continue...
Sending good vibes!
