I made Ramen noodles for dinner. I can already hear the din of voices coming from responsible mothers everywhere rising up in protest. But before you judge me, let me explain. I have been nursing sick kiddos for the last few days, and skirting getting sick myself. Finn has really only eaten crackers for the last few days, despite my best and varied efforts. So tonight, when I asked him what he wanted for dinner, he said, "Noodles, Mama!" "What kind of noodles, Finn?" "Noodles like Kung Fu Panda!!!" Noodles it is. It just so happens that I have a stash of Ramen noodles in my pantry for when I make chinese chicken salad (which uses the dry noodles only). So I held my breath, and dove right in. I resorted back to everything that is college freshman in me, boiled the water, and dropped in the noodles. Finn slurped them up happily. I might lose a few points by saying I loved every bite, too. But hopefully I'll gain a few back by telling you that I threw some peas and carrots into the mix. We've just got to pick our battles, don't we Finn. ;) Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to install a loft bed and microwave in the master bedroom right next to the mini fridge. Maybe I'll even pull an all-nighter.

I *almost* let my girls have cupcakes for dinner last night. CUPCAKES!
Thankfully my right mind kicked in and I served mac n cheese instead.
Poor girls.
Last night I think my kids had Wetzel's Pretzels and See's Candy for dinner. Ummmmmm...?? WHAT? So wrong. But if they were teenagers I think they would think I'm the coolest mom ever.
haha...like my mac'n cheese and hot dog night! it feels good actually doesn't...to cook such a simple dinner? And not really a big mess to clean up. I think I need more nights like those these days. Plus it is great for the budget. No protest here.
And I am loving the new Robin banner. Been drooling over it all afternoon. Might be emailing you soon!....you know for a fallish feel.
Hope you have a healthier weekend.
More noodles for everyone!
(It's okay...you're still my friend!)
I ate my favorite Milk Duds for breakfast today.
My kids all LOVE ramen- I have to limit it to Sunday lunches, but they would eat them every day if possible! Bella crushed a package in a plastic baggie the other day and shook the seasoning in and ate it DRY. She's been begging to try it that way for months.
No judging here. Boys ate dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets and sweet potato fries for dinner last night. Once in a while is good. Not like your eating that every night.
points with who? Ramen Rocks! And i'm sorry you guys are sickies. we are feeling sluggish from our whirlwind trip to utah but want to play when everyone is feeling better!
