Cupcake lovenote

Since moving to California, I've taken to commenting daily on this cute little cupcakery in downtown Burbank. It looks delicious and charming from the tiny storefront. Not to mention that their over-sized, Tiffany-blue packaging makes me feel like I might be getting royalty in a box for the palette. So last week when I was in the throes of designing for B My B, Wes came home with a surprise. It was hidden behind his back. He walked over to me (seated on the couch, computer in lap), stood in front of me, and procured the beautiful blue box with a little smirk on his face. Eeeek! Inside were six of the most delicious cupcakes I've ever seen, with flavors the likes of dark chocolate raspberry, creme brulee, and carrot cake. We sat right down at the kitchen table and dug in. It was 3pm. I looked guiltily at Wes. Through a mouthful of lemonberry: "Do you think we should wait until after dinner?" Through a mouthful of strawberry with creamcheese frosting: "No. I bought the six pack so that we could sample every flavor before Finn wakes up from his nap."

I love that man.
