After braving the hellacious depths of Walmart and THE MALL (gasp!), I came home to wrap the final presents. I sent Wes off to a movie, and Finn and I wrapped. (Well, I wrapped, Finn shredded...) We watched my
favorite Christmas movie,
The Muppet Christmas Carol. I only watch it once each year on Christmas Eve, because there is a song in the film that says "Afterall, there's only one more sleep 'til Christmas." But it seems I couldn't wait to share it with Finn this year. He loved it—must take after his Momma. We'll probably watch it again tomorrow night. :)
It looks like I was able to pull out all the stops at the last minute, and there will be a Holly Jolly Christmas at the Johnson house afterall:
(We bought our Christmas tree the year we got married. Technically it's an outdoor tree for the yard, I think—all white with lights built in. Then for my wedding shower, everyone gave me an ornament. So we have the perfect eclectic tree, not too big, folds up into a tidy little box for storage, lots of character and sentimental value. I LOVE it, and can't bring myself to get a different tree each year.)

(Our eveining's wrapping/shredding efforts revealed.)
"And every day night will end, and every day will start with a grateful prayer and a thankful heart."
~The Muppet Christmas Carol

Lyndsay,
I am sooo glad you are all home and Finn will be able to enjoy Christmas!
I teared up seeing all the tubes. I've been there before with our youngest and it doesn't take much once you have experienced that to re-visit those emotions again.
Merry Christmas....and by the way....I think sentimental trees are way better than getting a new one. We get a Charlie Brown tree (silver tip is the proper name) each year and get mixed comments from people! We love it and it is our family tradition! And I, too, have a mix/mash of all the ornaments our family loves on it!
I knew you had fabulous taste - the Muppet movie is one of my favorite Christmas ones too!
You are amazing to have gotten all that done in such a short amount of time.
As Hermoine said (and I am sure other people did too :)) Happy Christmas!
your house looks so merry. have a happy christmas!
I am so glad to hear that little Finn is home in time for Christmas! Congratulations. He's a doll!
Happy Holidays!
HI Lyndsay,
Glad to hear that you will be having a merry Christmas. The tree looks awesome. It touches my heart that the tree and ornaments mean so much to you. When I came up with the Christmas ornament themed shower, I wondered if it was brilliant or lame. Glad to know it wasn't lame. Merry, merry Christmas and a happy healthy new year.
